Firefighter appreciation isn’t just a once a year affair. Firefighters are there for each of us every day and were reminded of their impact this week. Cal Tri Events received a cryptic email from Garrett Wiruscheske, “I’m with the Austin fire department I believe we found your bike. It’s at station 15. Please call us to identify the bike and you can come get it.” The bike still had sticker #3688 from 2022 Cal Tri Austin on the top tube. With that piece of information, connecting the bike to its owner, Yaki Tsaig, was a breeze. Per Yaki, the bike had fallen off the back of his vehicle the day before.
“Thank you so much for picking up my bike and doing the detective work to find me and reach out! I didn’t expect to see the bike again. Glad to report that it sustained only minor damage and will be as good as new with a little servicing,” reported Yaki.
