I’m doing the Olympic distance at the Oakland Triathlon at the end of August 2017. I’m thinking of doing the swim without a wetsuit…any thoughts/advice? Thanks!

My family swam there a few weeks ago and were fine without a wetsuit.

Also, be sure to stop by our Cal tri tent at the race and say hi!!

Thanks so much, Sara! I will definitely try to swing by the Cal tri tent and say “hi”!

Usually it is around 50-57s degrees vs. Southern California water temperatures are usually the mid-60s for August. All depends on how you warm your like your water with out a wetsuit.

This info is from the Oakland Tri Website:
