Serious question & hopefully a good conversation starter: It’s race week and you get sick. What do you to get better physically and stay focused mentally when the body rebels and you can’t work out?
I managed a 5 and a half mile run very early yesterday morning. By late afternoon, I had a fever and today I feel worse. I’m trying to rest, I’m drinking lots of water & tea, but I’m also looking at my taper week plans to swim, bike, and run slipping away.
It’s happened to me before, and I think sometimes the body has a tendency to turn on you when you let your guard down, either right before or immediately after a race.
